New Zealand is scrupulous in its avoidance of illegally
logged timbers. No material originating
from Indonesia, Malaysia, Brazil or the Cameroons, has
ever been used. Moreover, as we demand from our timber
suppliers documented assurances that timber is legally
harvested, we have never sourced material shipped from
countries such as Singapore, plus West African states.
All timbers are drawn either from naturally sustainable
resources under the control of government agencies,
such as our rimu, and mahogany substitute; damanu, or
from plantations, in the case of American oak and New
Zealand pine.
Medium density fibre board, a composite of wood waste
fibrous chips in a formaldehyde based adhesive matrix
is New Zealand made.
